Well watch tons of basketball footage (you tube helps). Religiously work on your fundamentals (dribble, layups, foul shots, chest, bounce and baseball passes). Also since your 5'7 a reliable floater when you come into the paint would be a killer weapon to add to your arsenal. Conditioning also helps. You could start with just push ups, sit ups and running. Remember a little a day goes a long way. Do all these things and you'll be a solid player in no time.

The more you train, the better you'll get.
When you are by yourself, shoot. Take heaps of shots from all parts of the floor out to the three point line.
Also, practice ball handling. Up and down the floor - cross overs, spins, behind the back etc. Keep your centre of gravity low so you can change directions quickly.
Fitness. Run. Run. Run some more. Stretch and work on your vertical leap.
When you get to practice with others concetrate on defence. If you can hold a 30 point scorer to just 10 points, it's like scoring 20 for your team.
This kind of commitment to your personal training and playing really hard will impress most coaches and you will be a star player.
