Back in the day in my neighborhood court, the weather would eventually eat away at the net, and we'd play on it with no net until one of us made it to a sporting goods store to get a net. Doesn't really affect the game too much, just sometimes makes it harder to tell if a ball goes in, particularly deep shots with no rim. You don’t really need a net.
