It was for the Div. III championship in which Trinity completed 15 laterals to run down the field and win the game.

also trinity (Division 3) scored a touchdown either last year or the year before. those are the only two i can reckon of

You’re thinking of the well-known Cal vs. Stanford game where the band went onto the field.

It happened also in a lesser Div college game with more pitches all of which were sterile laterals unlike the Cal-Stanford game, but I don’t know the names of the teams.
