What is the meaning of the signs that Basketball player do after a dunk or any sensational action?
Aftеr a dunk, basketball players mау dο different signs usually wіth thеіr hands, lіkе knocking both fists іn thеіr head οr spreading hands ackwardly tο emulate birds(I assume) οr аnу others pun signs.Thаt wουld bе fаntаѕtіс іf thеrе wаѕ a website thаt сουld hаνе аll οf thеm аnd thеіr meaning.
It’s just that persons niche allot of times it means not anything.
it’s a tribal ritual that goes back hundreds of years, weird ain’t it?
It’s just like when football players do touch down dances. Knocking the fists on the head is like the horns on a bull,
this guy that answered first said it is some guys “niche”…….do you know what the word niche means? someone’s niche is pretty much their “role” or “job” in their environment. how does that relate here?
its called celebrating. their is no “meaning” of these actions, it is just pumping up the crowd or letting out adrenaline in celebration. have you ever seen tiger woods pump his arm after he hits a huge putt? have you seen brett favre throw his arm owing to the air after throwing a touchdown pass? have you seen soccer players run around in circles with their arms out?
all celebration rituals. not signs with meaning. they arent speaking a language or anything.
now sometimes you will see someone like steve mcnair place his hands out and i reckon it is the same thing you are talking about emulating a bird. this is a sign of the fraternity he was part of in college. i believe it is the q dogs (nickname of the frat)…..so yes some of these things are signs, but chest beating and everything else is just celebrating
